Kitchen Paint Color Ideas Biography

We are looking to remodel our kitchen and are on a tight budget. Our project includes
replacing everything; floor to ceiling, including cabinets. We recently traveled to our
nearest Ikea (2 hours from home) to research their cabinets. We currently have foil
finished cabinets, not sure of the manufacturer or install date, that are awful. Foil is
coming off multiple cabinets and the foil has a slight texture that traps dirt and are
impossible to clean. We had our heart set on doing real wood cabinets from Ikea but after
our trip there found out that the only style we liked will not work with all of the other
details we already have figured out. We like the design of a foil finish option but I'm
extremely hesitant to go that route given that is what is failing in our kitchen currently.
Opinions on the Ikea foil finish cabinet fronts or Ikea kitchens in general? As I said,
budget is tight so we're really looking to get the most bang for our buck and in that area
Ikea can't seem to be beat. Just really nervous the quality of the foil finish.
You could think of beiges, blues and greens. Keep the walls a neutral base colour and
introduce the color via the upholstery and accessories. I say so because if you plan to
redo it again in a couple of years all you'll have to change are the cushions, rugs and the
accessories. Changing wall color is a lot more effort.
Coming back to the proposed color combination. I would suggest off white wall paint / very
sparsely and lightly printed wallpaper. For the sofa I would suggest a beige or warm gray.
Side tables and center table could be a dark wood shade. Bring in the blue and green cheer
via cushion covers, center table runners, artwork, rugs, pottery and planters.
Extensive Definition
Painting is the practice of applying color to a surface (support) such as, e.g. paper,
canvas, wood, glass, lacquer or concrete. However, when used in an artistic sense, the term
"painting" means the use of this activity in combination with drawing, composition and
other aesthetic considerations in order to manifest the expressive and conceptual intention
of the practitioner.
Painting is used as a mode of representing, documenting and expressing all the varied
intents and subjects that are as numerous as there are practitioners of the craft.
Paintings can be naturalistic and representational (as in a still life or landscape
painting), photographic, abstract, be loaded with narrative content, symbolism, emotion or
be political in nature. A large portion of the history of painting is dominated by
spiritual motifs and ideas; sites of this kind of painting range from artwork depicting
mythological figures on pottery to biblical scenes rendered on the interior walls and
ceiling of The Sistine Chapel to depictions of the human body itself as a spiritual
subject.
Overview
May sound like a bit of an odd question but was juts wondering what colour you all have
your hallways?
We are about to decorate ours and are finding it vey difficult to pick a colour. We are
lucky to have a really long hallway but it is quite dark...I don't really wanna go for a
dark colour as it will be too dark in the hallway then, but don't wanna go for a really
light colour either as that will show up every single little mark.
Its quite a long hall too so it can't have a boarder or anything but have thought about
pictures/mirror?
Aesthetics tries to be the "science of beauty" and it was an important issue for such 18th
and 19th century philosophers as Kant or Hegel. Classical philosophers like Plato and
Aristotle also theorized about art and painting in particular; Plato disregarded painters
(as well as sculptors) in his philosophical system; he maintained that painting cannot
depict the truth—it is a copy of reality (a shadow of the world of ideas) and is nothing
but a craft, similar to shoemaking or iron casting. By the time of Leonardo painting had
become a closer representation of the truth than painting was in Ancient Greece. Leonardo
Da Vinci, on the contrary, said that "Pittura est cousa mentale" (painting is a thing of
the mind). Kant distinguished between Beauty and the Sublime, in terms that clearly gave
priority to the former. Although he did not refer particularly to painting, this concept
was taken up by painters such as Turner and Caspar David Friedrich.
Hegel recognized the failure of attaining a universal concept of beauty and in his
aesthetic essay wrote that Painting is one of the three "romantic" arts, along wit Poetry
and Music for its symbolic, highly intellectual purpose. Painters who have written
theoretical works on painting include Kandinsky and Paul Klee. Kandinsky in his essay
maintains that painting has a spiritual value, and he attaches primary colors to essential
feelings or concepts, something that Goethe and other writers had already tried to do.
Iconography is the study of the content of paintings, rather than their style. Erwin
Panofsky and other art historians first seek to understand the things depicted, then their
meaning for the viewer at the time.
